Sweater Weather
Let me preface this by saying no, I do not condone wearing sweaters in 90+ degree heat with 1000% humidity. What I am saying is, it’s completely possible to sneak a sweater into your rotating wardrobe of cut offs and sundresses, and not overheat in the process. If you’re like me, you’ll do anything to incorporate fall styles into every part of your wardrobe, no matter the weather, sweaters included. I am so pro-sweater that into the summer months, you’ll find not a single one of them packed away with my snow boots and beanies. You’ll have to prey them from my clammy summer-baked hands before I let you tell me that sweaters can’t be worn year-round.
Sweaters don’t automatically mean cashmere and wool; plenty of sweaters are loosely knit cotton, perfect for a breezy summer day. Especially when worn in a summer color like bright white, sweaters can easily become a staple in your summer wardrobe. They aren’t just for the fall and winter months and I promise I will not lead you to a hospital visit for heat stroke.
Say it with me: VENTILATION. I’m talking holes everywhere. Oprah Winfrey level holes (you get a hole, and you get a hole, EVERYONE GETS A HOLE). Pair an open knit sweater , you can shop mine HERE or HERE, with a cute lace bralette underneath and some destroyed cutoffs and you’ll have no problem staying cool. Milk every summer breeze for everything its got because you know they will be your only saving grace regardless of how much clothing you have on.
Do you wear sweaters in the summer? Do you think I should be committed to an asylum for telling you to wear sweaters in the summer? Let me know on my Instagram, I love hearing from you!
