Cryoskin VS CoolSculpting: Which One Should You Choose?
Overall, Cryoskin and CoolSculping yield the same results. They are great ways to target stubborn fat pockets that won’t budge no matter how much you exercise—picking which procedure is suitable for you boils down to a few factors such as cost and time commitment.
No matter how hard you hit the gym, there are just some areas of your body that refuse to let go of the fat.
Instead of doubling your time at the gym, opting for a Cryoskin or CoolSculpting treatment is an excellent (and non-invasive way) to target those trouble areas.
But what treatment should you choose?
Below, I wanted to dive into the good and the bad of both options so you can decide which one sounds best for you (and your bank account)!
What Exactly Do These Treatments Do?
Cryoskin and Coolsculpting are tools to zap away stubborn fat and are not to be used as an easy weight loss solution.
When you engage in a healthy diet and active lifestyle, you may find that some regions of your body refuse to let go of fat – especially on your hips, thighs, and belly. You’re not doing anything wrong; your body has two different kinds of fat.
Fat with more Beta-2 receptors is easier to lose. Fat with Alpha-2 receptors hang on for dear life no matter how hard you pedal on that bike!
Cryoskin and Coolsculpting are designed to target those very stubborn targeted areas to stimulate fat loss.
1. Cryoskin
The Good:
- More affordable than CoolSculpting
- Virtually painless
- One procedure takes less than 30 minutes
- No downtime required
The Bad:
- Requires multiple appointments with a 2-3 week break in between
- Results take time to become noticeable
How it Works:
Crysoskin treatments work by waving a wand over problem areas and alternating between hot and cold to zap fat cells.
In the 2-3 weeks following your appointment, fat cells travel through the lymphatic system and are released as urine.
After the 3-week waiting period, you will need to schedule 1-2 more appointments to see optimal results.
What Else?
There are three different styles of Cryoskin treatments for more personalized results.
CryoSlimming is designed for targeted weight loss for those stubborn little pockets of fat that you can’t shake. CryToning is more for cellulite reduction, slimming, and signs of aging and Cryoskin facials are like a non-invasive facelift!
Any Side Effects?
What’s great about Cryoskin is that there is little to no discomfort after your treatment. Some have found that the entire experience is quite soothing, like a trip to the spa, and they walk out feeling refreshed.
2. CoolSculpting
The Good:
- It only requires one session
- No downtime required
- 20-80% fat reduction
The Bad:
- One session takes around 2 hours
- The procedure can be slightly uncomfortable
- More expensive than Cryoskin
How it Works:
A Coolsculpting procedure freezes fat cells and flushes them from your system over six months. Instead of using a wand that alternates from hot to cold, CoolSculpting requires patients to place their problem areas inside a freezing chamber.
Unlike Cryoskin, this procedure takes time. One Coolsculping appointment can take up to 2 hours. It’s not a painful procedure, but some found it can get a little uncomfortable.
You won’t notice results right away, but they will become noticeable after around three weeks and continue to improve up to 6 months after your procedure.
Any Side Effects?
After your appointment, some users experience slight discomfort on treated areas such as swelling, bruising, and tenderness that typically lasts up to a few days.
It’s not enough to keep you down, but you may want to shelve your tight leather pants until your skin adjusts!
Cryoskin Vs. CoolSculpting: Which One Should You Chose?
Overall, Cryoskin and CoolSculping yield the same results. They are great ways to target stubborn fat pockets that won’t budge no matter how much you exercise—picking which procedure is suitable for you boils down to a few factors.
Cost:
If you are on a budget, Cryoskin is the more affordable option. One session typically costs around 300 dollars and a package of 3 appointments clocks in at about 900 dollars.
If you find that you need an additional two sessions, that price tag jumps up to 1,500 bucks.
Coolsculpting, on the other hand, is much more expensive. These treatments vary from location to location, but on average, they can cost you anywhere between 2,000-4,000 dollars!
Time:
While Cryoskin is more affordable, it requires a time commitment. Each session lasts around 30 minutes, but patients also have to return every 2-3 weeks for an additional 2-4 sessions.
If you don’t want to be bothered with continuous follow-up visits, Coolsculpting is the better choice.
Any Additional Benefits?
These treatments help zap fat, sculpt your body and target stubborn fat, but they also host a few other benefits!
Exposing your skin to cold temperatures helps to increase blood flow by widening your blood vessels, which sends more oxygen into your blood.
With more oxygen in your blood, your body will naturally boost collagen production, increase the skin’s elasticity (often lost as we age), and decrease fine lines and wrinkles.
These procedures will help you look slimmer, but they help you look younger as well!
